Livestock SA welcomes new Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development

Livestock SA has welcomed the appointment of David Basham as the new Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Livestock SA Chief Executive Officer Andrew Curtis said Mr Basham is ideally positioned to take on the role.

“Minister Basham has a great deal of experience in industry advocacy,” he said.

“He is an experienced dairy farmer and was the President of the South Australian Dairyfarmers’ Association and national advocacy group Australian Dairy Farmers.

“His knowledge of water policy, international markets and biosecurity will be of great value in his new role.

“Livestock SA wishes him the best for his appointment, and we look forward to continuing to work with him and his department on delivering positive outcomes for our industries.”
